This 4-session class will introduce you to the basic concepts of working in clay. By completing a series of projects, you will learn methods of building pieces with slabs and coils, throwing on the wheel, surface decoration, and glazing. We'll discuss the different kinds of clay, the different firing methods used to finish the work and how firing process affects the outcome of the piece. Class limited to six students.

A 6 -week class to introduce students to basic wheel work techniques. In addition, students will learn to prepare clay for throwing, trim and finish thrown pots and the basics of applying glazes. Class is limited to 4 students so there will be lots of individual attention. If you have some experience and want to improve your skills, this class can work for you.
